3D Printer 2 - Operator

Description

This micro-credential denotes a student who has become adept at maintaining a 3D printer for digital fabrication.

Instructions: To earn a micro-credential, take pictures or video of each criterion to show as evidence of your mastery.  When sending in your evidence be sure to organize your evidence and add captions or descriptors to explain what is happening.  Please do not send in multiple jpegs without organizing them in Slides, Docs, etc.

Criteria

• Change and/or load filament
• Clean print bed (use isopropyl alcohol on PRUSA or remove glue/tape for Dremel)
• Calibrate 3D printer.  Follow instructions for one of the printers below:
  • PRUSA MK2.5S and MK3S: XYZ axis, first layer calibration, and perform live Z calibration (link (Links to an external site.)). 
  • Dremel 3D-45: leveling build platform (link (Links to an external site.)) and assisted nozzle calibration (link (Links to an external site.)). 

• Preventative Maintenance: Clear/clean any obstructions from nozzles and extruders and   follow the check-lists provided in each link below.  
  • Preventative Maintenance for Dremel - clean the interior and exterior of all dust and debris.  Clean glue (Links to an external site.) or tape from the print bed and put on a fresh layer and lubricate X and Y rods with white lithium.
