CNC 2 - ShopBot
Description
This micro-credential denotes a student who has become proficient in understanding and using the full sized CNC router tool in digital fabrication.
Instructions: To earn a micro-credential, take pictures or video of each criterion to show as evidence of your mastery. When sending in your evidence be sure to organize your evidence and add captions or descriptors to explain what is happening. Please do not send in multiple jpegs without organizing them in Slides, Docs, etc.
Criteria
- Apply safety rules and use PPE (personal protective equipment)
- Secure materials on ShopBot
- Identify proper bit for materials being used (plastics, wood, cardboard)
- Change bits
- XY calibration
- Z calibration
- Use the vacuum system
- Select toolpath file
- Start machining
- Use emergency stop
- Use non-emergency stop
- Restart paused job
- Remove material (including cutting tabs, if necessary)
- Clean up machine (sawdust, plastic chips)
- Show the final product.
